Easy Easter Desserts For Kids

Kids love fun food and the recipes below are easy enough for them to help make and cute enough to make them want to eat them all up. These would be nice to take to the Easter party at school.

Be sure to add pastel colored serving dishes to make it more pleasing to the eye.

Easy Easter Dessert

1 pound cake cut into slices
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
Green food coloring
Jelly beans

Line bottom of a 12 x 8-inch baking dish with cake slices. Top with pie filling and whipped topping. Refrigerate one hour or until ready to serve. Tint coconut green with food coloring. Sprinkle over center of whipped topping. Decorate with jelly beans.

Easter Basket Cupcakes

1 box cake mix
Confectioners' sugar icing (tinted green)
Coconut (tinted green)
Jelly beans
Colored pipe stems

Prepare cupcakes as directed on cake mix package. Tint icing green and ice cupcakes. Add green tinted coconut. Then, place jelly bean's on the iced cupcakes. Add colored pipe stems, bending to resemble Easter basket handles.

Easter Nests

1 jar marshmallow cream
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 can chow mein noodles
1 cup jelly beans
Confectioners' sugar

In a mixing bowl beat marshmallow cream, peanut butter and butter until smooth. Fold in the noodles. Chill until the mixture is easy to handle. Take 1/3 cup of mixture and form into a nest on wax paper. Chill about 30 minutes. Put several jelly beans into each nest for eggs.
