Create Famous Restaurant Desserts Recipes at Home

"Eat dessert first because life is uncertain." This may be the best test of whether restaurant desserts recipes are truly famous. If, for instance, when you visit your favorite Red Robin restaurant, you order the Mountain High Mudd Pie before you order dinner, that's a famous dessert.

Once you get your dessert ordered, order your dinner, then sit back and relax. When the dessert comes, start watching for the chef so you can ask for the recipe. Begin by praising the heavenly concoction. Then call him or her a genius, a master dessert chef, or anything else that will get you that recipe.

Of course, you can take a portion of your dessert home and try to ascertain the ingredients. If you have a fairly simple dessert, like Peach Cobbler from Hardee's, you'll be able to figure that out right away. However, if you're lucky enough to be enjoying the Ritz Carlton's Baked Chocolate Mousse, you might want a bit of help duplicating that recipe.

In this case, I would start by searching for a similar recipe online. Here's one for the chocolate mousse you may want to try:

Baked Chocolate Mousse

1 pound semisweet chocolate
6 tbs unsalted butter
1 c heavy cream
1/4 c Kahlua
6 large eggs, at room temp
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 325 and line a 9 inch springform with parchment paper.

Place the chocolate and butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave until the chocolate is just about to melt. Stir until everything is melted and well combined. Set aside.

Whip the cream and Kahlua until you get stiff peaks, then refrigerate.

Whip the eggs, sugar and salt together in a large bowl. Once they are well combined, whip for 5 to 6 minutes at high speed. Don't overmix. Stop when you notice it starts to lose volume. Fold the chocolate mixture into the cream mixture using a spatula.

Pour the mouse into the spring form pan, then bake for about 1 hour. Allow it to cool completely.

A stroll through a bookstore or a click or two on the internet should provide you with some good choices for restaurant desserts recipes, including some of the more complicated famous desserts. You can enjoy that fabulously famous dessert now because you can create Baked Chocolate Mousse in your own home!

Why not whip up a decadent and famous restaurant dessert tonight and surprise your family.
